Our basement remodeling company was founded in 2020 by D.J. Westerbeck, a lifelong resident of Fredericksburg and the son of a contractor. The name Hydrangea is a tribute to D.J.’s mother, who passed away from brain cancer in 2015. Hydrangeas were her favorite flower, and D.J. carries on her legacy by helping families design beautiful spaces that bring people together.

Before starting the company, D.J. worked as a county building inspector. That experience gives us a unique edge as a Class A licensed and insured basement remodeling contractor.
